Jericho beach at sunset is a must-do for family photos in Vancouver.
Allison, Curtis, Heath and Archer were down from Kamloops for the weekend and what better way to capture their Vancouver summer weekend that a beach sunset as beautiful as this!
We started out in the park area for some fun family photos around the picnic blanket. As the sun began to set, we moved onto the sand and towards the sea and the boys had an absolute blast!
The best way to capture authentic, candid and natural family photos is by setting up an activity where the kids can just be themselves. Vancouver has plenty of stunning locations where you can do just that, and Jericho Beach is my absolute favourite!
Alison said on her insta that “this photo is a pretty accurate representation of how I feel most days (keyword: most). Pulled in every direction by the boys but also so overwhelmingly happy! I truly didn’t think I would become a mom and that makes these moments even more special.”
These are the kinds moments that I love to capture!⠀⠀
“Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.” – Kahlil Gibran
“We must be free, but to have real freedom, you must be wild and free yourself.” – Bryant H. McGill 📸
“If you’re not having fun, it’s your own fault.” – Rich DiGirolamo
“The sky broke like an egg into full sunset and the water caught fire.” – Pamela Hansford Johnson
“The sun, the bright sun, that brings back, not light alone, but new life, and hope, and freshness to man…” – Charles Dickens 📸
“I wondered if my smile was as big as hers. Maybe as big. But not as beautiful.” – Benjamin Alire Sáenz⠀
The best family photography is all about the in-between, fleeting moments… and moments don’t get any more special than this.
